More than a basket:

A Goal of 100, a Community That Believed, and an Incredible Gift from Surge Energy

When I started the Glen Adnam Cancer Comfort Basket Foundation in August, I set a goal that felt huge: provide 100 comfort bags to people facing cancer.

I hoped we could do it. But starting something so close to your heart means putting your dreams out into the world without knowing who will believe in them alongside you.

Today, I get to say an incredibly heartfelt thank you to Surge Energy for their generous $5,200 donation, which will help us complete all the comfort baskets we are planning for 2026.

It is hard to put into words what that support means.

We have already given out 48 comfort baskets, plus seven additional bags, and we are preparing 102 comfort bags for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Estevan. Once those planned bags are delivered, that will be 157 baskets and bags—far beyond the original goal that once felt so ambitious.

Behind those numbers are people and families going through difficult days. Each bag is a way to offer a little comfort and remind someone that their community cares about them.

This foundation carries my dad’s name, Glen Adnam, and so much of my love for him. Watching other people and businesses help that love reach families across Saskatchewan has been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey.

Surge Energy, thank you for believing in me, in our foundation, and in what we are working to build. Your generosity helps turn our plans into something we can pack, carry through hospital doors, and place into someone’s hands.

To everyone who has donated, shared a post, contributed supplies, or encouraged us along the way: you have helped bring us to this moment.

I started with a goal of 100. Because of this community, we get to reach beyond it.

Thank you, Surge Energy, for helping us finish our 2026 comfort-bag plans with so much gratitude and hope. 🤍
