When the Glen Adnam Cancer Comfort Basket Foundation began, one of our first big goals was simple:

Create 100 comfort baskets for people affected by cancer.

At first, 100 sounded huge.

One hundred blankets.

One hundred collections of personal-care items.

Hundreds of journals, activity books, snacks, socks, games, and comfort items.

Hundreds of items needing to be purchased, donated, sorted, packed, and delivered.

But with every person who offered to help, that number started to feel possible.

Every Basket Starts Somewhere

A basket might begin with a $20 donation.

A donated blanket.

A box of lip balm.

A business sponsorship.

A bag of activity books.

Or someone saying, “What do you still need?”

Those individual acts of kindness slowly become complete comfort baskets.

And those baskets eventually make their way into the hands of someone facing cancer.

That is what makes this goal so meaningful.

The number 100 is important, but the people behind that number matter even more.

One hundred baskets means the possibility of reaching one hundred people or families during an incredibly difficult time.

Community Has Made This Possible

We have already seen incredible support from individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and volunteers.

Some people have donated money.

Others have donated products.

Some have shared our posts.

Others have connected us with hospitals, businesses, community groups, and potential partners.

Every person has helped move the foundation forward.

This project has shown us what can happen when a community comes together around one simple idea:

No one facing cancer should feel forgotten.

Why 100 Is Only the Beginning

Our first 100 baskets are a milestone.

They are not the finish line.

Cancer continues affecting families every day across Saskatchewan, and our long-term goal is to continue expanding the number of communities we can reach.

We want to build lasting partnerships with hospitals, treatment centres, cancer organizations, businesses, and community groups.

We want to create sustainable ways to keep comfort baskets available.

We want to reach more patients, caregivers, and families.

And someday, we hope that what began as a goal of 100 baskets becomes thousands of moments of comfort.

One Basket at a Time

Big goals can feel overwhelming until you realize they are built one small step at a time.

One donation.

One volunteer.

One partnership.

One basket.

One person.

That is how we will reach 100.

And that is how we will continue growing from there.
