Meet Kennedy

Hi, I'm Kennedy Tessier — a wife, mom of four, entrepreneur, author, website designer, photographer, and the founder of the Glen Adnam Cancer Comfort Basket Foundation. My journey into entrepreneurship began during one of the most life-changing seasons of my life. In 2019, I became a mother for the first time and also lost my dad, Glen, to cancer. Experiencing such deep love and devastating loss in the same year changed how I looked at life, family, purpose, and the kind of legacy I wanted to create.

Built on Love, Loss & Purpose

Today, I run Prairie Willow Design Co., where I help small businesses and passionate entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life through thoughtful website design, photography, and creative storytelling. I am also building the Glen Adnam Cancer Comfort Basket Foundation in memory of my dad — with the hope of helping cancer patients and their families feel supported, comforted, and less alone.

“Family is at the heart of everything I do.”

My husband and our four children are a constant source of inspiration, laughter, and perspective. Life can be busy and beautifully imperfect, but I've learned that some of the most meaningful moments are found in the ordinary days.

My Books & Writing

Writing has become one of the most personal and meaningful parts of my creative journey. My books explore grief, motherhood, purpose, legacy, healing, creativity, and the quiet moments that shape who we become.

The Built With Purpose series includes reflective books, guided journals, and workbooks designed to help readers slow down, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with greater intention.

Through My Lens

A collection of poetry, reflections, and photography that holds space for the in-between moments — the quiet, tender, and often unseen pieces of a life in motion.

A Thousand Little Goodbyes

A deeply personal exploration of grief, change, memory, and learning to carry love after loss — one small goodbye, one quiet remembrance at a time.

Kennedy is also writing:

“Through My Lens” — a collection of poetry, reflections, and photography
“A Thousand Little Goodbyes” — a deeply personal exploration of grief, change, memory, and learning to carry love after loss

More titles are coming soon.

My Photography & Creative Work

Photography has been part of my life and business since 2018. What began as a creative outlet became a meaningful way for me to preserve the moments families never want to forget.

I love capturing genuine connections — the laughter between siblings, the way a parent looks at their child, quiet moments between couples, and the personalities that make every family unique. I also enjoy working with entrepreneurs to create branding images that help them feel confident and connected to their businesses.

Alongside photography, I design websites, write books and guided workbooks, and help other people bring their ideas and stories into the world. Whether I am working through a camera, a website, or the pages of a book, storytelling is at the centre of everything I create.

My writing is inspired by my family, my father’s memory, my experiences as a mother and entrepreneur, and the belief that ordinary moments can hold extraordinary meaning.

A Quote I Carry With Me

Do small things with great love.

This quote reminds me that creating an impact does not always require a grand gesture. Sometimes it is a comforting basket, a meaningful photograph, a thoughtfully designed website, a page that helps someone feel seen — still more to come.

What Drives Me

What drives me each day is the desire to create something meaningful for my family, my readers, my clients, and my community.

I want my children to see that it is possible to build a life around creativity, courage, and purpose. I want my readers to feel less alone in their grief, growth, and healing. I want my clients to feel proud of the businesses they have worked so hard to build. I want cancer patients and their families to know they are seen and supported.

My dad's life and memory continue to inspire so much of what I do.

Losing him taught me that our time is precious, our stories matter, and even the smallest acts of kindness can become part of a lasting legacy.
